I have a dual band LG 8120 and I’ll be going on holiday to Europe later this year.My question is,will I be able to send messages back home(Australia) with my phone while I’m over there?
Also what does tri-band and quad-band mean?

it wont necessarily work anywhere in the world…it depends on the frequency that the country uses….check the 2 frequencies ur phone can use and check the frequency in that country

For Quad Band and Tri Band, let me answer that one. Quad Band GSM allows for full global roaming, operating at every frequency cellular carriers use around the world, which are 850/900/1800/1900 MHz. The 850/1900 pair is used primarily in the US, while the 900/1800 pair is used mainly abroad.
Tri-band GSM has two variation, which we like to call US Triband and Euro Triband. US Triband consists of 850/1800/1900 Mhz. Euro Triband consists of 900/1800/1900 MHz.
