Question by wildmanwill77: what are some special meals people in Italy prepare for holidays?
I have this project and my teacher told me that I would probably not a whole lot of information with the websites she provided since they don’t give a whole lot of information on my topic and she told everyone in the class to find four examples of whatever your topic is and I found three and I have been looking for two days for another example and have had no luck yet finding one.

It depends if for holidays you mean general holidays or particular occasion like Christmas or Easter. For Christmas is very common having, after lots of entree like smoked salmon or pate’ or shrimps, the first course is often tortellini home made and the second (main) stuffed chicken or turkey with of course veggie on the side. As desert pandoro and panettone and also torrone.
For Easter is coomon having baby goat (capretto) and for dessert colomba (cake in a dove shape).
I hope to have helped you.

In the area of Emilia Romagna where I live, it is traditional to have cotechino and lentils for New Years and this is what I’ve had for the past several years. The cotechino is a peasant sausage as described in the attached article and the lentils represent coins symbolizing good fortune for the coming year. http://ilforno.typepad.com/il_forno/2005/01/cotechino.html
