Traveling with a dog!!!?

Question by Davis B: Traveling with a dog!!!?
Well I am going on holidays for 3 months on summer and I have people hwo would gladly mind my 7 month old pomeranian but I want to take him with me. So… here’s the problem – I have the chip and shots but i heard from a friend that if you travel abroad with a pet for the first time you can’t take him him back until after 6 months.

Was she telling the truth?

If this makes any diference I am going from Ireland-Latvia

Please tell me because i already left him here on christmas holidays and i don’t want to do it again :(

You should check with the laws but I know if there is no rabies in Ireland you will have to quarantine him for 6 months returning. May as well leave him behind.

I actually believe she is correct, but it may depend on where you will be taking the pet. I’m not sure who you would contact to find out actually information, but I think this may be regulated by the department of health, so you might start there.

Well I have heard that pets go into quarantine for at least 6months but this is only if you move. BUT, that is only what I have heard. Check rules and regulations and laws and see what happens. You can check at your airport too.
