    If you like fruit cake, try this brand named “Panettone”. I’m not from your area, but I reckon you can get it at a lot of Italian grocers. It’s very soft, not like the sterotypical heavy “brick” fruit cakes people dread.

    @Tankweti I feel for you and the ones facing such troubles…But I think that we would be better off with real limits on unemployment pay…This life is a challage day to day , 9 years ago I was given2 yrs. to live , I know hardship , but I put my faith In the Man upstairs , and whatever job that He has for me on this earth I pray that He will see me through it…I will be praying for you and hope that this new year is very good for you…God bless…

    @1mrgasgas1 Your wife should thank God for you. But what about those of us who are single females with no such lifeline? I am 58 years old, was laid off in 8/08, retrained as a nurse and now cannot find work 7 months after graduation as facilities refuse to hire you unless you were a CNA there so they can know your work ethic. We were never told in this school (private catholic college). I am going to sue. But in the meantime, I am difficulty surviving as my benefits ran out in July.

    @judutchinski

    I want to go to Japan where all the teen girls walk around in schoolgirl outfits. Thats not a stereotype right, it really is true?

  8. skyding8962 May 14th 2011

    Screw europe. You want to go to Japan, everywhere you go girls walk around like a bunch of japanese schoolgirls in skirts. LOL

  9. yogawaga May 14th 2011

    @cathylake1

    Most women are gold diggers. In fact I don’t know a woman alive that doesn’t marry a guy for his money and security.

  11. cathylake1 May 14th 2011

    @skyding8962 That is called prostitution, and I don’t know any prostitutes. What type of company do you keep? I and the women I know pay our own way. The ones who are looking for a mate just want someone who will pull their fair share and team. So stop lumping all women in the category when only a very small few are gold diggers.

    @DEMCAD Also I am not talking about full time work but just 20 hours per week will allow the employer to put aside his prejudices against hiring the unemployed by letting him see that you do a good job. The other 20 hours should be spent seeking a job.

  13. cathylake1 May 14th 2011

    @DEMCAD If correctly implemented no it would not negatively impact the unemployed to have them work at a job volunteer to collect Federal unemployment after 6 months. If you have been unemployed for more than 6 months that means that you do not have a good network and the best way to get one is by building relationships on the job.

    I hope to see both my daughters happily married and living a comfortable life before I die. There’s a lot I’d like to do, but none are more important to me.

  15. kadeem121 May 14th 2011

    @DEMCAD hay do u live in michigan or Alaska

  16. judutchinski May 14th 2011

    @Mrepifany – dude what gives. He is very much in touch with his identity. He talks about it all the time. You’ve joined too late in the discussions. He can go when he wants and in the meantime research the internet. maybe you should too.

    And if this is so true why don’t you just pack up and move to africa yourself? sound good? Bronx is a shithole by the way, I passed through for a missed UPS package at the shipment ctr and shat myself practically. Never going back. Thanks!

    Europe rocks. Japan rocks too. When you arrive your old spirit will die and leave your body. You will never be the same again. No matter what pictures and footage you’ve seen it won’t compare to in the flesh.

    Me: Paris, Amsterdam, Prague, Vienna, Belgium, Italy, Greece. Also passed through a bunch of places including Budapest, Germany, but were were enroute and couldn’t stay.

    Japan will suprise you. The people are phenomenally friendly. Not the stereotypes/prejudice Americans grow up with.

  18. joshsaun May 14th 2011

    I’m the oddball in my family. I also like fruitcake. As for things to do before I die, I want to hunt Moose and brown bears in Alaska.I would also like to visit Salem Massachusettes around halloween.

  19. Mrepifany May 14th 2011

    im not trying to start trouble but all the places this dude named are nice but NONE of them are to any places where BLACK PEOPLE LIKE HIMSELF ARE FROM…That says wonders about his mentality and his fascination with EUROPEAN culture and no deep interest in HIS OWN PEOPLE and where his ancestors came from.

  20. lookingforthemeaning May 14th 2011

    Americans who “do Europe”, want to see it in one week.
    They think if they drive in a bus trough a country, they saw that country.
    They saw it alright. From behind their seats.
    I live in the Netherlands, and 2 weeks is not enough to see this small country.

  24. aranelinya May 14th 2011

    @redline1189 while I agree with you, what do we do when the family breaks? What I’m saying is…you have grandma and grandpa. Grandpa has stroke becomes disabled. Now 2 depend on one income. Son and wife both lose jobs take kid move in w/ G’ma …5 dependents. Daughter loses her job and youngest son loses his–7 dependents. Great–grandma can’t survive off Soc. Sec anymore w/ cost of food & heat rising so 8 depend on one 50K paycheck–how many more jobs lost B4 family dies/goes criminal?

  25. CommentorX May 14th 2011

    People think that they can just stop paying unemployment and forget about the unemployed. The cost of keeping an average prisoner is $30,000 a year to taxpayers. Would you rather pay someone to actively look for a job, or pay someone to sit in a jail cell?
    / Or do we forget about the Constitution, line them up and just shoot them?
