Tenby Wales for holidays opinion?
Question by Mirabo: Tenby Wales for holidays opinion?
Do you think Tenby in Wales is a good choice for a first visit to Wales? My priorities are: SEA!!!, beaches for walks, scenic countryside, secure walking routes, lively country town with cafés, and relaxed “olde worlde” ambiance. Possibly a day trip to Cardiff?? or Swansea??. Every opinion or suggestion is highly appreciated. Also for (budget accommodation with spouse – 30th wedding anniversary!) By the way, no car! Public transport only.
Thanks.
By budget accommodation I mean B&B or suchlike.

yes, Tenby is a lovely destination … glorious beaches, coastal path etc etc … try a day trip to Pembroke and see the castle … there’s plenty of buses and the train line so that shouldn’t be a problem as long as you stay in Tenby itself and not on one of the leisure complexes out of town … try Saltern Caravan Park, just at the edge of Tenby, short stroll into the town, 5-10 minutes from the rail station http://www.schservices.co.uk/Saltern/Saltern%20Caravan%20Park,%20Tenby.htm
