Schools for Intelligent Energy Use Student Presentation: Cornwall College Camborne – National Trust
In April 2010, sixty students from five Cornish schools and colleges successfully completed projects to help local businesses use energy more efficiently and investigate renewable technology opportunities. Theproject is the first of its kind in the UK to link businesses with students to work on energy efficiency projects and is part of the Schools for Intelligent Energy Use (SIEU) Project – a European programme funded by Intelligent Energy Europe, with eleven partners across nine EU countries. The UK element of the SIEU programme is being delivered by Community Energy Plus, Cornwall’s leading charity delivering local solutions to fuel poverty, energy efficiency and renewable energy. The students worked for three months on projects to find creative solutions to real-life sustainability questions and help the business they worked with reduce their energy consumption and investigate renewable energy options. Water Chute 1 is 25m long and slow, water chute 2 is 25 m and medium and chute 3 is 20m and very fast! For younger children there is a separate mini water chute and paddling pool. The pool area with its organized activities provides a focal point for your holidays and is under permanent supervision from qualified lifeguards throughout the season.
