Q&A: Where is the best place to spend a birthday/Christmas in Europe on a budget?

Question by Gray: Where is the best place to spend a birthday/Christmas in Europe on a budget?
I am a student in Amsterdam from America and not going back to the states for the holiday season and would like to spend my birthday and Christmas (they are close in dates) somewhere in Europe. The cheaper the better. Also, if you know any good websites to find cheap packages please let me know!

Get to The hook of Holland, jump on a ship and come to London
its an overnight boat should be cheap for a foot passenger.
stay in london for a few days than make your way to Harwich get another overnight boat to Hamburg Germany fantastic xmas markets
if you decide to come to London always stay south of the Thames
its only a short walk to the centre of London but a lot cheaper bed and breakfast normally about £20.00 about 16.euros,
hope that helps.

  1. If you can get to London (Stansted airport) relatively cheaply, you can book a Ryan Air flight cheap to anywhere you think you might like to visit.

Parts of the Czech Republic are inexpensive to travel to as well as parts of Spain. In many countries the towns & cities away from the main capitals – and even off the beaten path – are not all that expensive. If you want to spend time in a big city, Berlin is a great city and one of the most inexpensive as far as European capitals are concerned.

    Hit the snow!

Me and my boyfriend go boarding every christmas and new year in the french alps, the atmosphere is amazing, fireworks, torchlit descent etc.

We sometimes go to a resort called Flaine, the prices aren’t too bad compared to other resorts. From England, London, for a week inc everything it costs around £1000. But from Holland definitely cheaper .

Even if you’ve never skied before it’s great fun and a right laugh!! Give it a go!
