Q&A: Majorca holiday for family with 4 year old boy in August?

Question by Dono: Majorca holiday for family with 4 year old boy in August?
Looking for suggestions for the best area in Majorca for a family travelling with a 4 year old boy. Looking for a hotel with kids facilities, no lager louts or 18-30s and away from the crowds, no need to get up at 6am to get a sun lounge, close to Spanish towns/markets. Appreciate areas and hotel suggestions. Thanks

Santa Ponsa or Alcudia are great family resorts but I wouldn’t say they were near towns but the both have weekly markets, I liked the Pionera Hotel Santa Ponsa, great kids clubs, The Hisperia was good but not good kids clubs although it is looking onto beach next door to MacDonald’s, Most people go to the Belvue Complex in Alcudia but its a bit of a walk to beach and lots of mosquito’s because of the lake.

alcudia. defiantly. i went last year with my then 3 yr old and we have booked yesterday to go back again this year!

we stayed in the lagoon center last year. its in a brilliant location for a peaceful holiday. go on google earth and look it up. its available through first choice and is actually one of the cheaper places to stay. there is a kids play ground, and an entertainer thats brilliant, its about 500m away from the main strip of alcudia but not too far that its a pain to get to walking.

alcudia itself is very family friendly. the locals are brilliant with the kids, and the beach is beautiful!! id deffinatly recommend ‘cheers bar’ we found it on the last night and wish we had found it the first!

anyway hope u find somewhere nice. iv heard santa ponsa is good for a peaceful holiday.

my friend recommended menorca for families. have u thought of there?
