If your question is ‘how many public holidays ….’ then the answer is Christmas Day and New Years Day. There might be some regional festivals or day’s off, for instance Boxing Day is a holiday in Alsace Lorraine.

  1. We have the Christmas day itself, 25th December. If it falls on a Saturday or Sunday we don’t get any extra holiday.

Here are our days off during the year. We usually lose a third of them due to them falling on a Saturday or Sunday:
    1st January – New Year
    25th April – Easter Monday
    1st May – Labour day
    8th May – 1945 victory
    2nd June – Ascension
    12th June – Pentecost
    14th July – National Day
    15th August : Assumption
    1st Nov: All Saints day
    11th Nov : 1918 victory
    25th Dec – Christmas
