Q&A: Does Poland celebrate Sunday holidays on Monday?
Question by Johann: Does Poland celebrate Sunday holidays on Monday?
Here in the USA holidays that fall on Sunday are usually celebrated on Monday. Monday is then the day off work for most people. Is this also true in Poland? Specifically, will the November 11 holiday be shifted to Monday November 12? Do you think Independence Day (either Sunday or Monday) would be a good day for visiting major tourist sites such as the Wieliczka Salt Mines or Auschwitz? Will transportation be limited on either day?

No we dont have such custom (unfortunately ><). I would advise to choose other day than Monday if you want to go sightseeing.
That’s because most of museums etc are closed (they’re open in Sunday , so Monday is free for them).
Auschwitz (as far I remember) is open 7 days in week. And entrance is free.
Transportation is only limitted while Saturndays,Sundays and feasts.
