  1. Turkey! My aunt vacationed there and loved it. She said there is a lot of history and beauty there. I don’t know about the other places-I haven’t heard anything about them from friends or family.

  2. Turkey, definitely

by the way it is Montenegro, not monte negro

Well, i’m having the same doubt, but i think in the end i’m going to choose Ohrid again.
First, i think Albania is still not that attractive, cuz they are still building their resorts. It’s still cheap though…

Bulgaria is nice, but prices have increased from last year and that visa issue is getting on my nerves. So no thank you…

I was in Montenegro, i think 2 years ago, nice as well, but ppl say prices will be 2, 3 or even 4 times more expencieve this year

I love Turkey, but the one thing that turns me out from visiting it, is the long road (we need more than 20 hours to get to the tourist resorts) by bus. but if you can allow yourself a plane ticket go 4 it…

whatever you choose i wish you have fun and all the best…

Albania. I saw a photo presentation on it once, and it looks just wild enough to be interesting.

  7. Albania – Still not developed enough.
Bulgaria – Dangerous sea (All those black flags on the beaches, you know…)
Turkey – No words to explain, wonderful, but couple years in a row bombs explode in the most visited cities.

Monte Negro is the choice (from this list)
Fine beaches, nice people (happy one, because they became independent country recently)
No Visa needed. Not expensive…. GO THERE !

  8. I may be partial, but I’d say most definitely Bulgaria.
Here’s what I wrote on the subject in another post:
    _________

I’ve taken my husband on at least half a dozen excursions around Bulgaria, and he loves it – the “old stones” (aka ancient ruins), the churches and monasteries, centuries-old pristine villages with unique architecture, flavorful food (very inexpensive), arts and crafts, colorful sceneries, fun beaches or ski resorts depending on time of year, buzzing night life, quality shopping (especially for immaculate cocktail and business attire and clothes in general), you name it…

We played hide-and-seek completely undisturbed by guardrails or security or anybody at all — or lights in the dungeon for that matter – at Baba Vida fortress… hiked to a natural rock formation stronghold in Belogradchik… spent a night at the monks’ chambers at Rila monastery… saw ancient gold treasures and artifacts in several city museums… went inside a Thracian tomb… wandered endlessly by the sea between Nessebar and Sunny Beach…enjoyed a colossal opera production under the open sky in downtown Sofia… and I’m not even listing any of the regular touristy places to go to, like Veliko Turnovo, Arbanasi, Etara, Shipka, Melnik (mmm, wine!), Plovdiv with its old town, Varna, …

There is a stunning contrast between the big cities, such as Sofia, Plovdiv, Varna, hustling and bustling with their posh downtowns, shiny storefronts, busy offices and countless cafes, and the rural areas that seem framed in a time some 50 years ago… It has given me a different perspective on my country, seen through my husband’s “foreigner/explorer” eyes… Bulgaria is a totally unique experience and if you keep an open mind you’ll have an awesome time…

Bulgaria, for sure. Prices have increased, but if you don’t want to get bombed, and have a good vacation, I’d go there.

  10. Definately Turkey – most to see but Monte Negro is nice also.
