Ok so, Holiday, Europe, Around Christmas time. Where should I go and what should I do?
Question by EllaBella: Ok so, Holiday, Europe, Around Christmas time. Where should I go and what should I do?
Hi!
I live in the Netherlands now, and since they don’t celebrate Christmas over here on December 25th, I wanna go somewhere else, for about a week around Christmas day.
I’m wanna go somewhere unique, not a touristy-place, and I don’t think I have enough money for skiing. Somewhere quiet, beautiful. I’m thinking, nature, silence, beauty, not too cold…
I’m young so I can do hiking and hostels and yeah…
And I’ll probably be going alone.
I only have 450Euros.
Any suggestions welcome, I’m open too any ideas.
Thank you!

What do you mean that the Netherlands doesn’t celebrate Xmas – it’s a national holiday along with the 26th December! So it’s a bit strange to get both days off and not celebrate it!
Yes I know it is common to celebrate Sinterklaas on 5th Dec, but some families either celebrate both or even just Christmas.
So if you don’t want to spend a lot of money and want to celebrate it – well just stay where you are :0)
Alternatively just get a ferry ticket (by foot or Eurolines) to the UK where it is celebrated in grand fashion – Norfolk, Yorkshire, Scotland, Cotsworlds – you name it, plenty of quiet, beautiful nature and if you are really lucky, then a little snow as well.
