www.HikingEquipmentSite.com My return hiking holiday to St Ives Cornwall with Holiday Fellowship (HF) Holidays was again a fabulous time for me. In 2009 we did itinerary 2 and had such a great experience that we decided to do itinerary 1 this year. We had a choice of three day hikes each day on this hiking holiday. The HF Holidays’ Hiking Leaders were great. During the day hiking they guided us in a caring and considerate way, and also pointed out places of interest. During the evening they socialised with the hiking guests or provided forms of entertainment. I could never forget that music since I once played that game

probably the best soundtrack in this game

very powerful gameboy music track, by far the one of this game. when do we get your band’s cover uploaded here on yt? ;)

Ah yes, I made the unfortunate mistake of using in_gbs to sample, which I more recently found out plays the wave channel quieter than it should by talking to the composer himself. (check the video info for a link to our interview)

That particularly disappoints me because I try to use very accurate emulation sources. I try to make sure everything I post here is very good quality. My future gb uploads will likely sample .gbs from nezplug++, that is supposed to be more accurate. :)

The main-melody is in the background =(

I more recently learned that the official track title to this is “Holidays”. I’ll update the video title / description accordingly sometime soon…

one of my favorite songs in video games for sure

    Yeah, that’d be cool.
But don’t rush into it. The tune is as good as chiptune already (but have to admit, only played this game on the SNES Super Game Boy adapter, never on the classic one.

When you’re done, you could sumbit your music file also to ocremix, a community which takes video games to remix the tunes.

Anyway, good success. Nice to hear those old tunes again, while the newer games (Metal Gear Solid 4) have nice, deep, pounding music. or something like Vagrant Story’s awesomeness.

Awesome! My band covers this song. I’ll let you know as soon as we have a recording available. We use live instruments combined with various systems for chiptune backing tracks (NES, GB, C64…).

Actually this is my most favourite track from Obélix. This game seems to be relatively unknown, but features really one of the best music I ever heard on the classic Game Boy.

Especially that tracks sounds so … advanced for the limitations the Game Boy has in terms of sound. So catchy, just makes me want to play level 1-2 again and again, the same goes for the “Dungeon” theme in this game, which actually is no eerie sound, but a cheerisch, yet very dramatic and catchy tune, too.

    Five stars.

You could sample from the headphone output to the line in on your computer, but sometimes it’d be impossible to get just the music without sfx getting in the way.

I sampled all of these from the .gbs rip, which isn’t an audio sample– basically just the music data extracted from the rom. There are various .gbs players, some for winamp and others standalone. In other words, emulators for just the music!

    snesmusic[dot-org]/hoot/gbs/ (gbs soundtracks)
google search ‘gbs player’ to find one. :)
