well im friends with a guy from austria which borders slovakia
he told me the other day that slovakia is really dangerous and full of skinheads and gangs who fight each other and they come over to austria and rob people
is this true?
i got into a minor disagreement with him cause he also said czech republic is dangerous and i went there on holiday and its fine but he said the tourist agencies take you to just the nice bits

No, Slovakia is not dangerous.
Either he is winding you up or he is trying to blame a neighbouring country for people in his own country who misbehave.
In Slovakia there will be some people who are going beyond the law, all countries have some of those, but in general Slovakia has fewer problems than Austria, they also have fewer people of extreme opinions.

It’s nonsense. Austrians are brainwashed and yes, we have bad historical expereience and cool relations with them. And I’m pretty sure neither Slovakia is dangerous. Yes, there are more gipsies (hardly adaptable people of darker skin, very noisy, robbing).
