How come so many British people are on holiday in Northern Ireland?
Question by Eric S: How come so many British people are on holiday in Northern Ireland?
I went to Belfast, Northern Ireland and most people there said they were British not Irish.
And I asked the people there if they were Irish? They said no they were British.
If they are all British tourists on holiday visiting Northern Ireland, why were they dressed in work attire reporting to work? I don’t understand?
In fact, you would almost think Northern Ireland is part of Britain and that these people are indeed not tourists

Urgh, you’re not funny.
I hope you’re trying to be funny and not just incredibly ignorant. But just in case you are just very ignorant, I’m going to tell you that Northern Ireland is part of Britain. When Ireland was granted independance, the six counties that make up Northern Ireland expressed their desire to remain in the UK, so the island is now divided into Northern Ireland, which is part of the UK, and the Republic of Ireland which is an independent state.
I assume you are joking.
Just in case you aren’t…Northern Irish people, like the Scots, Welsh and English can call themselves British.
Northern Ireland is apart of the Uk
sometimes when somebody in ni says they are irish it can suggust that they are nationilsts (want ireland free from the invider called british)while if they says they are british the are unionists
also n.ireland was only reconised by ireland as a differt country in 1998 when the irish consattuion was change as it claimed control over “the island of ireland”
it is very intresting in how this all stared and how ireland never consider it self part of britian
by the way one day ireland will be united ,conpleated sepreated from britian
also ireland is ireland britin is britian
they are differnt
ni is not part of britain but controlled by britian
