Wow, a trip down memory lane! We first went there in 88 – loved it and went back a couple of years later. So sad to see what they’ve done to it since. And George in Zorbas! – remember him so well. Lovely, gentle man…free mataxa at the end of the meal! Is he still there?! I also remember a bar we went to in the square, owned by Ilias was it? Wonder what happened to him?
Thanks for this wonderful souvenir of Georgioupolis twenty years ago. We first went there in 1991, and your video captures the fishing village with a few apartment blocks thrown in … and not the other way round as now. So much greenery and the sea front was just rushes, bamboo and a rough track.
Oh, and maybe I should warn people who go there for a holiday, that they could end up like me …. and live just 10 minutes drive from the place.
