I have a trip I have to make for business to France at the beginning of April this year. I had heard that Friday the 10th is a holiday, as is Sunday the 12th and also Monday the 13th.
Are the Friday and Monday official holidays in France? If they are, should I expect large multinational companies to be closed for business those days?

Hello,
School Holidays are from saturday 4 to Monday 20 April, according to the areas.
The vacation days for companies are, as a rule, Saturday and Sunday. But on Monday, April 13 as, it is holiday for Easter, the companies will be closed. Friday, April 10 companies will be open, but many people will be absent.

What are the different holidays and festivals, and how do they compare to those that are celebrated in the United States?

Big holidays of Italy are: Christmas (Natale), Easter (Pasqua), New Year (Capo D’anno), and the day of the saint of the city (date changes depending on the city). The date of the hollidays corrispods to the one you have in america.
