Me and my family(mom, dad, sister 17, brother 13) would like to spend our christmas holidays in a nice location but we don’t know where. seeing as we live in shanghai it would have to be somewhere in the Asia Pacific region…??

Thailand….absolutely stunning place, once you go to Phuket you will think you have landed in paradise

Nice places to be will be Hong kong, Thailand, Singapore, Philippines and Australia/New Zealand.

Or try Boracay, Philippines where I spent xmas holidays last 2005. Very relaxing and only few tourists.

The Philippine Christmas is the longest in the world. The yuletide spirit starts at september with the radio stations starting to include christmas songs in their airplays. By December 16, children across the streets start singing christmas carols and of course, they deserve prized items as they sing like coins and candies. The celebration here is not just within the immediate but also with the relatives, neighbors and even family friends. All theme parks abound for children to enjoy and build their colorful fantasies.
Ive said we celebrate the longest christmas season, right? It officially ends at the feast of the Magi at January 5. Next occasion is another festive celebration… the feast of the Holy Child. that’s how we never stop having fun…
Terry, If you want to experience Christmas, then like one of the other members suggested, it would be the Philipines. I have never been there, but I am pretty sure they do.
If you like christmas lights/deco then it would have to be Singapore.
If you are not too keen on the above but just want to get holiday out, then try not to go anywhere similar to Shanghai. HK, Singapore, KL are somewhat similar. Sky-Scrappers, modern city, good infrastructure.
Siem Reap (Cambodia), Hanoi (Vietnam), Bali (Indonesia), Phuket/Koh Samui/Ayuthaya/Sukothai (Thailand) would be my preferences.They still retain that old sense of culture where everyone smiles at each other and speak very politely to one another and not just to the tourists!
Consider Philippines. They have the longest Christmas celebration in the world, from December 16 ’til January (Orthodox Christmas). Try Boracay or even Baguio City and smell the fresh pine and pontientia. Hear the kids sing you a nice carol.
I should warn you though that December is the busiest time to travel in the Philippines, so it’s either you come a little early or a little late. I am sure at this time, you’ll find it hard to reserve a seat in your most favorite airline.
Just a word of advise, travel on December 25 is considered low season, thence you’ll be paying a cheaper airfare.
i would go to singapore. they have nice christmas deco and party there…moreover they have sale during that period ;p
As my experience about celebrating XMAS then i suggest MANILA,CEBU OF PHILIPPINES,then SAIGON,HANOI OF VIETNAM,because PHILIPPINES is the country with 90% people catholic and VIETNAM also got a lot people catholic and baptist also!i might miss somewhere else thought!
oh christmas??if i were you i would rather choose philippines.. its n0t bec im a filipino but its bec here in the philippines..we celebrate christmas so fun.you would really feel christmas here at the philippines..we have th0se christmas lanters located at every house..christmas caroling and wats0ever!!i know they have this too at the other countries and thay have fun christmas too..but i only celebrate christmas here at the philippines so i choose it.but i assure you..when youll go here..you will surely enjoy your christmas!!
