to people who have been to south east asia only!?

Question by Matt: to people who have been to south east asia only!?
im british and have family in malaysia , all expats except my grandma or popo as we call her but any way i used to live out their as a very young child but i was very young. my dad still lives out their and is very respectable and successful and he is married to a half cast malaysian who i like allot and they have had kids who are my half brothers. they all speak the language and fit in with the expats and can get along with locals and have a Beautiful house etc…
any way that is just setting the scene, last year i had just finished my summer hols and my dad said that i can come to malaysia and live with him for a few weeks and do my work experience over their, so i said yes and just thought ” cool a holiday after the summer holiday, score” but that was about it. i flew for around 14 hours with a 3 hour stop off and so was getting tired and just wanted to get their but wasn’t too excited because i was finding it hard to get around the airports by my self ( i was only 15)
i finally got to malaysia and after the i got through the customs in kl airport i started to get a bit more relaxed and then it hit me! i was home, i hadn’t known it untill then but this was home for me i sudenly was over come with the best feeling in the world like i had just won the lottery on x mass and fell in love it was amazing . ever since their i have been in love with south east asia.
has any one else had that feaing of pure happines by visiting south east asia ?

  1. I felt like home when I visited the first & 2nd time (with my husband).

Yeah, just like I never left.

Came to the states when I was 13. Went back 1999, and recently went back a year ago.
