Songkran Festival in Chiang Mai, Thailand – 2009
The Thai people celebrate this festival with water. Everyone gets soaking wet and since it is the hottest season of the year, the custom is quite refreshing. Songkran is a Public Spring Cleaning Day, supported by the religious belief that anything old and useless must be thrown away or it will bring bad luck to the owner.

I was there too. This was my Songkran number 5. Great fun and everybody´s happy. Wanna go back there again.
Me too – I was there this year – my first Songkran ever. Got totally soaked like never before on my first day and then the next day rode in the cab of a pick up truck to allow me to take video and photos. Big mistake, I should have been in the back having fun. Great video though – brings back good memories even though they are only three weeks old.
