Q&A: How can I tie in my holiday in New Zealand with travelling?

Question by bakesbrooklyn: How can I tie in my holiday in New Zealand with travelling?
Hi, I’m graduating this summer and hoping to get some money together from June until around december time. My family are going to New Zealand from the 18th December until the 4th January. However I am really interested in going traveling but as I’m currently knee deep in work haven’t been able to look anything up. I understand that traveling to Australia afterwards would be the most obvious option but what would you guys suggest? The plane tickets are getting pretty expensive but would I be able to buy an around the world plane ticket if I start in New Zealand? Are there any projects or programmes I can join? Or any particular projects I could join in Australia and then move on to Asia? I know usually with around the world you go america or south america but I think I’m interested in staying in the australasia and asia zones. I have previously been to china, malaysia and thailand and loved it so would love to go around those areas for a bit more travelling. Any suggestions would be most welcome! Thank you!

Air New Zealand belongs to Star alliance as do other airlines such as Singapore Air. United in America canada airlines but yes around the world means Asia one way and America the other way.I have travelled with them and had a 5 stop ticket . You might be better to do your own planning. Jetstar and Virgin blue often put out some good deals between NZ and Australia and from Australia to Asia there are many good deals with jetstar or Tiger air or Asia x . Im flying on a 2 for one deal with jetstar from australia to japan for 0 one way for one. http://jetstar.com.au/
If you join the news letter you can have the deals before they go in the papers. as they sell out fast.

What do you think? Answer below!

Posted in Asia.
