New Years Slowdown
VICTORIA – 2010 was a year that saw restaurants and bars suffer under new more strict drinking and driving laws. But on New Years Eve many establishments are looking to entice those celebrating to have a few extra drinks, and still get home safely. Some restaurants are offering cab chits, a good idea say police, as over 60 officers will be out in full force looking for those drinking and driving. Cab companies are also expecting a busy night, and long waits. They ask customers to call ahead and be patient. Between 12:30 am and 4:00 am those seeking a cab are asked to use the designated cab stands located and various points along Douglas St.
