In harmony with the rebirth of nature, the Persian New Year Celebration, or Norooz, always begins on the first day of spring. Norooz ceremonies with thousands of years history are symbolic representations of two ancient concepts – the End and the Rebirth; or Good and Evil. with various local pronunciations and spellings, meaning ‘New Day’) is the traditional Iranian new year holiday celebrated by Iranian people and initiated in Ancient Iran. Apart from Iran, the celebration has spread in many other parts of the world (specially the parts which belonged to the Greater Iran) including parts of West Asia, Central Asia, South Asia, Northwestern China, the Caucasus, between kurdish population of Turkey, the Crimea, Albania, Bosnia, Kosovo and the Republic of Macedonia. Nowruz marks the first day of spring and the beginning of the Iranian year. It is celebrated on the day of the astronomical vernal equinox (the start of spring in the northern hemisphere), which usually occurs on March 21 or the previous/following day depending on where it is observed. The term Nowruz first appeared in Persian records in the second century AD, but it was also an important day during the time of the Achaemenids (c. 648-330 BC), where kings from different nations under the Persian empire used to bring gifts to the emperor (Shahanshah) of Persia on Nowruz.

@BATURUSHA and you’re grouped with all the retards of society who says corny words like “”negritos.” Get a life hater
@consoleman09 koreans are grouped as negritos and africans^^ so fucking true, with wide short noses and tall foreheads+short faces, your facial indexes are so fucking aseembled with negritos
r u retarded??! how many times do u want me to say that I am NOT in Hongkong?!! give me the fucking source plz,i have scanned through most of the research done by well known asian geneticists such as jinli, xue, wenbo and western geneticist like hammer, non of them claims such things.Lol KImchiman fabricating as usual^^ Go and read some descendant anthropology/genetic research plz! Korians are not just physically closer to southeastasians than other northern populations but also genetically (O2b)
@consoleman09 Lol stupid kimchiman,I am not even in hongkong, korean pure race? don make me laugh, the genetic structure shows that the koreans were originally the fucking negritos and southeastasians later got mixed with some northeastasian tribes from northern china
Lol how can a hongkonger be so fluent in mandarin and simplified chinese but unable to understand cantonese??just ask any of my hongkong friends they know that im from NortheastChina and studying overseas currently. Manju ur foot! I have known u on utube since 2 years ago,ur old acct was suspended right? You are just a typical dirty korean liar with inferiority complex towards china,I once saw u using fake accounts to pretend to be japanese to make comments, yar, now you are a Jurchen, cool!
@consoleman09 Im from hongkong? LOl wtf ! Firstly I am not from hongkong or southeastasia,my hometown is located in northern part of Manchuria which is northern than all the eastasian regions in China, secondly, nowadays Han only made up about 9/10 of the China population, and many of them are not pure hans but mixed,I have some han chinese friends with persian/arabian muslim and xianbei and even filipino-muslim as their fatherline ancetral roots due to migration in history
@consoleman09 Shut the fuck up, China=/=han chinese! Koreans were slaves of China throughout the history
@consoleman09 Chinese also never say Chinese New Year. We just say New Year or Lunar New Year. Across China there are minor differences in ways people of different regions celebrate the New Year. But they share a lot. My Korean friend, a smart and accomplished Korean lawyer, whose father is a Korean scholar in Korean history, told me that basically Korea’s history until 100 years ago is just like a regional Chinese history. And In the US, 95% East Asian study Center of elite uni is fromChina.
lol
i used to play hatoe or what ever you call it
i played hatoe with my grandma every night xD
it was a fun game
i always won for some reason
@ffff214 it’s practically share by all East Asian, nothing new. Hence Koreans never says “Chinese new year”, we say Lunar new Year celebration, you’ll notice there is no lion dance & firecrackers from Koreans.
it is almost what Chinese do during their lunar new year. The two share a lot.

Most traditional oriental Asians have great diet .. natural herbs, vegetables and fruits and grains…
I think western people are now trying to stay away from eating to much meat steaks, pork chops, chickens and beef.
Korean food is really delicious and good for health too.
I beg to differ!!!!

There were also some inaccuracies.

How intelligent and beautiful Persian tradition! I LOVE NOWROOZ!
I saw that newroz and norouz are celebrated on the same day and have similar names, I thinks it’s very likely that they once where the same…
Persian Ancient City of Balkh e Bami is the birth place of Nowruz this great and historical festivity.
The presenter lists “Kurdistan” as a central Asian state ! strange!
love nowruz
long live the Kurds and Persian !!!!
Actually Nawroz or Akitu as known for Assyrians derived from Mesopotamia. The Assyrians who live among Kurds especially in South Kurdistan/Ashur have been a nation for almost 7,000 years now.
You are right though, we shouldn’t argue who owns it today, it’s for everyone who wants it
And yes, that is another thing. Kurds don’t have only Mediyan (Iranian) ancestors, but also Mesopotamian and Anatolian ancestors and we populate today the exact same place where the world’s first civilizations were born. Noah, Abraham etc were all from this place. Even the Jews have many holy places in Kurdistan. Zoroastrism, Christianity, Judaism, Islam and the ancient pagan religions have been here too.
So we have a mixed ancestry, but we are proud of our Iranian one as much as the others
You mean Kurds need to reconnect with their Mediyan (Iranian/Ariyan) roots. Medes (Kurds) was the first Iranian nation and founders of the first empire also. It is well known that Persians adopted much if not everything from the Medes and Cyrus The Great was half Kurd half Persian, but I think you ment Iranian roots
And I agree. Medes and Persians always treated eachother better than themself, always together conquering Assyria, Babylonia, Egypt etc modern history isn’t so good though…..
Where do you think the Kurds came from? They are an ancient Iranian tribe. There are many Greek tribes who were originally Persian or Median peoples as well. Sumerians, Mesopotamians and Persians were the architects of yesterday’s and today’s societies. Kurds need to reconnect with there Persian roots and stop isolating themselves. If they had joined with the Iranians then Saddam Hussein would not have singled them out for genocide.
Well happy new year to you and all kurdish too. Also Georgians, Afghanies, Indian Parsis and everybody who celebrates Norooz.
it is kurdish new year
