you can ask to with some friends and spend time with their families over breaks. it can be different friends each break so you don’t feel like a burden but i’m sure many people would be happy to have you.

What do you think? Answer below!

At some schools, they have certain dorms that do stay open during breaks, to house international students who can’t return home – but you can also live in them as a domestic student. You can ask your school about that.

The other poster suggested staying with friends, and that’s a good one. You could also travel during the breaks, and stay in youth hostels or hotels. You can also “housesit” friends’ school apartments when they return home, and sublet their places over the summer. Summer is certainly the easiest break to find housing for. In fact, you can sublet student apartments in cities all over the globe in the summer, so feel free to do an internship in Boston, or get a job at a restaurant in NYC, or work at a pub in London. For summers, there are also jobs that provide housing, like in some resorts and at summer camps. You can sometimes even stay at your university and take classes and stay in the dorms. Many unis even rent out student dorm rooms during summers to anyone, so that’s also an option.

Worse comes to worst, during short school breaks, you can stay in a hotel or a youth hostel for the duration. But I bet, between all the suggestions people will give you here, you’ll find things that suit you.

  2. The previous advice is good, although you may feel hesitant to invite yourself to someone’s home. You can also talk with the Dean of Students (or whatever he/she is called at your college) and with the Director of Housing. The latter, in particular, may know of some off-campus rooms that will be available.

But where have you been for the past week?!
