I Travel to Guangzhou, China from India. But as the Air Asia is a point to point carrier, I cant do through check in to GZ. So I have to collect my luggage at KL and then check in Air Asia to GZ at KL. But at this point, Do I require to a entry&Re-entry at KL?

Check the link below.. I couldn’t do it for you because you never mentioned your destination country! This tool is really helpful… Just plug-in your citizenship/ current residency and destination and connecting country information. Hope it helps.. Good Luck

  1. Hi George, unfortunately, you are correct. You will need to collect your bags, exit immigration and check in everything again to your next flight. That’s the problem with flying budget carriers.

So you will probably need a visa.

Upon arriving from India to KL, proceed to the immigration. Tell the immigration that you have a connecting flight to Guangzhou, show them your confirmed ticket for KL-Guangzhou route and you will be issued a transit visa which valid not more than 60 hours. This transit visa is issued free of charge.

( note : make sure you have confirmed ticket from KL-Guangzhou otherwise you might have problem with the immigration upon your arrival at KL Airport )
