flights within asia…?
Question by aflumpire: flights within asia…?
my mum and her boyfriedn are going to Kuala Lumpur, Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi for a holiday soon (from Australia)
they have flights from KL to Ho Chi; then Ho Chi to Hanoi, then Hanoi to KL again, then back home.
My question is that in those flights that are with in asia, do the flight attendants on board have to speak english for safety instructions and so on?
Neither of them know Malaysian or Vietnamese, so they would not have a clue for what the safety instructions are; or what the flight attendants are offering them to eat..
do they speak english on those intra asian flights?
thanks ardin; they are flying with Malaysian from Australia to KL and KL to Vietnam, and Vietnam Airlines within Vietnam.

It is obvious to us Asians that English is spoken on board all flights within Asia (especially Malaysia where English is an official language) except maybe on some Chinese airlines where English is poor. For the flights between KL and Ho Chi Minh City/Hanoi, you can fly Malaysia Airlines, the national carrier that was awarded the world’s top 10 airlines by Skytrax, or Air Asia, the best LCC in Asia. In Vietnam the best bet is its national carrier, Vietnam Airlines, where speaking English and good service is guaranteed. Use their English websites below to book tickets
Yes there should be flight attendants who will speak English. They will give instructions first in English and then in Vietnamese or Malay.
Just flew Singapore Airlines between San Francisco to Hong Kong to Singapore to Kuala Lumpur. On the flight from San Francisco to Hong Kong, the flight attendants gave instructions in English first and then Mandarin. On the flight from Singapore to Kuala Lumpur, the instructions were in English and then Malay.
The airlines know that there are more foreigners flying their airlines so they will have flight attendants who are multi-lingual.
