Cheap places to go on HOLIDAY? (SOUTH-EAST ASIA).?
Question by Lizzie T: Cheap places to go on HOLIDAY? (SOUTH-EAST ASIA).?
I was thinking maybe Philippines or Malaysia… Does anybody know any really cheap but good hotels? I really want to go to white beach in the Philippines, but I can’t seem to find any decent yet cheap hotels. I’m 15 years old, and traveling with my friend (who is also my age or so), so it’s not like we have a lot of money. We’re thinking of spending around… 2 weeks there.
Thailand is a fantastic place to visit too (especially for those with a budget, but I’ve lived in Bangkok for 14 years… so I wanna try something new…) But I haven’t visited all the beaches, so for those who’ve been to Thai beaches, recommendations would be nice. =D.
Thanks in advance!!!

My daughter went to South Vietnam last year, and said it was one of the most beautiful places she has seen. have a look at the website.
What do you think? Answer below!
im from the phil and i suggest the porlo playa at quezon province or the legenda hotel in subic city i think or the bay-veiw hotel at quezon province. actually there is no cheap hotel. just rent an apartment its cheaper if the owner is nice.
Best beaches I’ve seen in SE Asia are north-east of Sihanoukville in Cambodia.
But here are links to islands in Thailand:

Well i think you should go to KL, Malaysia… It’s the capital of Malaysia. Great Place for shopping, eating… You can stay in Federal Hotel (3 stars), Parkroyal Hotel (4.5 stars), Boulevard Hotel(newly-opened)… Parkroyal is just opposite Sungei Wang… Quite a big plaza… It’s famous for it’s street shops which us, teenagers will like it…
Boulevard Hotel is located around One Utama area… Which is also another high-end shopping complex. I don’t know about ther price.. sorry…
I’ve heard many tourist chose Federal Hotel… It’s located at Bukit Bintang area… which is also Parkroyal’s location…
Bukit Bintang has rows of Hotels… Ranging from Westin to Regent… It’s a high-end area too… Coz lots of 5 stars hotel are there… check this website for more info on federal

KL is not famous for any beaches… but Penang, they do…
The hotels that i recommended you are decent ones… As they are all located at high-end areas and not sleazy ones… so you don’t have to worry…
Parkroyal – RM200++ per night
I am around your age and travel to KL by myself quite often… But as i dun have any budget, i chose Westin Hotel which cost RM $400++ per night… Their bed are very cosy…
Have a happy trip! =)
Hey pal,
Since you like white beaches facing the real ocean, why not try Digos City,Davao Del Sur….the Philippines.
Not so commercialized.Enroute from your place to Davao City International Airport.

You are crazy if you are thinking of going to somewhere like the Phillipines at you age or any other SE Asia country , living in Bangkok does not prepare you to go out into potentialy very dangerious situations at 15
I got back from Boracay (where white beach is) yesterday. I’ve been living in the Philippines for 1.5 years now, and have been there 4 times. There are TONS of hotels at all price ranges. I wish I knew your price range…but I tend to stay for about 14 USD/night or less, slightly off the beach.
This past trip I stumbled upon Dave’s Straw Hat Inn, which is cute, clean and an easy walk to the beach. I had already booked another hotel, but I think I’ll stay here next time.

You can consider Malaysia as the cost of living here is still low. The conversion rate now is about US1 to RM3.4. You can stay in No Frills Hotel and travel here using Air Asia No Frills Airline.
