7000 Iraqi refugees coming to America?

Question by UnaBlogger: 7000 Iraqi refugees coming to America?
Why not find another safe place for them to go besides the U.S..
Most refugees have fled to Syria and Jordan, both of which have recently tried to restrict the influx. The U.N. estimates that 40,000 to 50,000 people flee Iraq each month and have dwindling options of where to go.

I would suggest Uzbekistan, 88% muslim, mostly Sunni and the government has dealt harshly with Islamic extremists. Uzbekistan had been a supporter of US involvement in Iraq.

By the beginning of the 20th century, Central Asia was firmly in the hands of Russia and despite some early resistance to Bolsheviks, Uzbekistan and the rest of Central Asia became a part of the Soviet Union.

On August 31, 1991, Uzbekistan reluctantly declared independence, marking Sep. 1 as a national holiday. In subsequent ethnic tensions, two million Russians left the country for Russia. It sounds like Uzbekistan would be perfect, why not there?

I hope they all move to your hometown and build a big’ol mosque next door to your house. And when they do, I would expect you Bush-Bots to welcome them with flowers and dancing.

    Mission Accomplished!

Wow I didnt hear about that. How are they going to get over here? Of ALL the places in the world why are the getting sent here to the U.S? Where in the U.S would they go?

  9. There are allowed here because it is a part of the quota the government sets for the Middle East. Amazingly, many people do not realize that the US has always had a quota system in place after Ellis Island was over run. How they were selected is a mystery, but they will be relocated to establshed Iraqi neighborhoods across the country. Here ( Houston) at our medical center, seven Iraqis were fitted with prosthetic arms ( apparently they were not in Saddam’s social circle ), and they all said they liked the US very much, which surprised me. I thought our customs and religions were highly offensive to them.
