Summer Camp Alternatives?
Question by thecharlotteairplane: Summer Camp Alternatives?
The summer’s fast approaching, isn’t it? We’ve still got a bit of a way to go, sure (the pouring rain and almost arctic temperatures are fooling some of you, I know, but have the sun’s just around the corner I’m sure…), but it’s coming. And, with the summer, comes the summer holidays. During which my parents have to work, as usual. Last year was the very last year that I can return to the summer camp that I’ve been visiting since I was a little kid, and no other summer camps seem willing to take older teenagers (I’m fifteen, for reference). So my question to you is…
What alternatives to summer camps are there for teenagers who can’t be at home during the summer? It doesn’t have to take up an entire six weeks, my parents only have to work for four, but hopefully it’ll entail mingling with a lot of other people my age. Social skills have never been my forte, exactly, and I’m hoping that I can engage in a bit of fine tuning this summer and turn that around. I live in the UK (the South East, to be a bit more specific) and, like I said, I’m fifteen.
HELP ?!
