Q&A: Where can I buy primost cheese? It’s from Norway and made from goat’s milk?
Question by chrissy25: Where can I buy primost cheese? It’s from Norway and made from goat’s milk?
My father remembers eating this as a young child in Norway. I would like to order him some for the holidays. I have never been able to locate it in stores anywhere or online. It is similar to Gjetost cheese, but a true primost lover knows the difference. Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks!
I’m in California

It might be helpful if you’d let us know where you live, eh?

Well, I guess you can try and contact Tine (www.tine.no) or Synnøve finden (www.synnove.no). They are “cheese producers”, so maybe they can help you.
By the way, it´s not gjetost, it´s geitost
did you try googling it?
I found this in the results: http://www.kingsnorsk.com/Products/Cheeses/cheeses.html
Don’t know if it will taste the same as genuine Norwegian primost though..
