Saint Nicholas was a Turkish man who was keen on secret gift-giving. He is the patron saint of sailors, thieves, and prostitutes. He’s buried in Italy.

I am sorry to dissapoint you but santa dont exist it’s a myth..
Yes he lives in Finland.
Of course Santa lives now in Lapland here in Finland, otherwise there will not be any charter flights arranged for foreign tourists to come and visit him!!!!
There is a mixture; Santa Claus is in fact something that was taken from the Nordic mythology.
Accordingly to the mythology a small man dress in a grizzled dress watch over the people who lived in the house and the ground around the house et cetera. The Swedish word for the ground around the house is TOMT and the man is called TOMTEN. Not to make “tomten” angry one used to put out some food for tomten.
The first know men dress in red as the Nikolaus was seen in Stockholm a round 1775 something collecting money for poor children.
I think that it is the pictures made by Jenny Nystöm, which has formed the modern Santa Claus of today.
The original “SantaClaus” or Nikolaou has basically nothing to do with Christmas at all and belongs to the early Scandinavian mythology, but has become the saint of the shopkeepers to make fool of people.
The question; Well as I said the tomten or Santa Clause was living nearby the houses or in the stables. To us it doesn’t matter if he lives in Sweden or in Suomi/Finland, at least we know that is said that his is somewhere in Lappland.
