African American immigrants did not get to bring their culture with them from Africa and it is now lost – so no. He also has no connection to Africa, having not lived there.
I perceive racism in your question – as if a candidate of color would automatically switch the holidays to another unknown culture instead of being American.
Don’t we already celebrate Kwanzaa? Oh yeah,that’s a fake holiday invented by a professor at UC Berkley. Still, It sounds like a bad idea to me.
Yes it is, and we need to bring many more Africans to this country. We were slaves for many years. This is only fair.

I know a lot of Africans, and they do not consider themselves “African-Americans” any more than African-Americans consider themselves to be “Africans” by nationality.
Africans from different countries celebrate different holidays. I’m not sure why you want to celebrate all the holidays from 34 different nations, but maybe you can talk your boss into letting you take all that time off. Maybe not, I’ll give him a call to see if your job becomes available after you try it.
NOPE. I’m American & I didn’t realise many other Americans are of African heritage- just a few . I’m Irish American, & I’ll vote for the candidate that gets the job done – not the one that endlessly debates it. Obama changes mostly his mind & I think it’s funny that everyone is so hung up on his blackness – both parties. He’s just a liberal like all the rest of them . Vote common sense not common trends.
