I want to know what Southbroom is like during the december holidays between Xmas and New Years, in terms of partying and wild days/nights. Looking to go somewhere urban that offers a great time with lots of fun people.

Southbroom is on the south coast of the provice of Natal, you wont find a night life there at all. BUT Margate within a 20km journey is better option for night time partying, many young school leavers flock there to have a break before heading off to university. Lots of Afrikaans chicks looking to break away from mommy and daddy’s clutches for a few weeks.
Very easy to score.

Talking about partying, wild days & nights, then Southbroom might not be a better choice. Southbroom is predominantly a quiet residential area which is close to the sea. It doesn’t have clubs and stuff like that. As the previous answerer has suggested, you may consider going few kilometres north to Margate, and you’ll have all the fun you are looking for there.
