Q&A: Where is the best area to relax and have a great vacation in Africa?
Question by ragenthorne: Where is the best area to relax and have a great vacation in Africa?
I am not a world wide traveler, but everyone says that Africa is a superb place to go to vacation and enjoy themselves. As far as my research shows it is dull except for the animals and unusual social differences from America.
I do not like barren land but I do love wonderful beaches with local color that can be combined with modern comforts for cuisine and libations along with acceptable, but inexpensive accomodations.
I am a very friendly American who wants to meet people in other countries, enjoy their culture, but have no desire to become a “Peace Corps” member.

Well, I live in South Africa, If you want to see some beautifull beaches I would suggest Cape Town in South Africa as a starting point. You can go all the way along the coast untill you get to Knysna, which is spectaculer. Personally I think we have the most amazing beaches in the world! Cape Town is full of wine farms etc… the water is a bit cold though…When Going up the coast towards Knysna you will get plenty of elephant walks in the forest! South Africa is great, its really not as bad as people make it out to be!
Try it, Im sure you will love it! best times to go are around Jan-Feb, its pretty cheap!
I live in Kenya and once had an American peace corp teacher who helped me improve my basketball skills greatly while in school. Amazingly i was in school in Lamu island and this is one of the best places to visit if you need to relax. My friends run a company that could help you out and give you some suggestions but Kenya is a beutiful country and from semi desert to tropical forests and snow you will see it all. try the site tatourskenya.com
