If you live in the USA try Swain Tours. They do great tours to Africa.

I haven’t been there, but there are definately safari tours. I have an uncle living over in Kenya, sometimes in Uganda and Tanzania. I’ll try to find the name of one of the North American based tour companies when I find my recent brochure.

    Try http://www.worldwidequest.com
    or

  2. Do yourself a favor and contact a travel agent who can take care of alot of details. The agent would also have a variety of safari companies who can put together a safari that will meet your needs and budget. What visas will you need? What shots will you need? What kind and how much travel insurance should you have? What do you want to experience on your safari? When is the best time to go? Which airline? The list of questions goes on and on.

I used CC Africa (dedicated to conservation) on my most recent safari in Zimbabwe. They also operate in many other African countries and they are very professional. Check them out at http://www.ccafrica.com/.

My experience in Africa has been that once you get outside the big cities (and away from the tourist traps), you’ll some of the friendliest people you’ve ever met.

    Enjoy.

A few years ago i did the trans african tour, it departed from Dover, England, and ended up in South Africa – 23 countries in 10 months, it was an unforgetable adventure. Africa changes and betters you in a way you can’t imagine. There are many overland companies and it is the best thing that can happen to anyone! “Oasis” is retty good but depending on budget you can go from “Econimic” to “Exodus”. Give it a go, never met anyone who didn’t absolutely love it! Even if it is a short visit.

I lived in Kenya for the better part of my life and would definately recommend it for holiday. There is a lot to do from lazying on the white sandy beaches to climbing Mt Kenya if you are the adventurous type. A must see place to visit is the Masai Mara, if you are interested in seeing the big five. You can also incorporate Tanzania, although this can be pretty pricey. You can check the Rex Resorts website (just type Rex Resorts in google). I think this will probably be helpful to you. Good Luck.

Looks like you have received enough suggestions but I got one more. Check the African Safari Club on the net. You’ll most probably end up in Kenya where the wildlife is second to none, and as someone has said here, the people make some of the best friends one can make anywhere in this world.

If you ever end up in Mombasa, contact me and and I’ll take you around. I’m Kenyan, born and raised partly in Nairobi and in the country and I now live in Mombasa.

They are all registered. I have used Takims, Kearsley and Bobby. and recommended them to a number of my foreign friends and they liked the service. Make sure you go to visit Amboni caves, Ngongoro crater and the Serengeti. Mikumi is great too.
