It is a country in southern part of Africa. It is a land locked country with neighbours as South Africa, Namibia, Zambia and Zimbabwe. It has mining, tourism and cattle rearing as main business.

Botswana is a relatively big country in Southern Africa with a relatively low population approx 1.6million.
Climate is very hot with a large portion of the country consisting of desert.
Botswana, since independence in the sixties, has grown it’s economy into one of the fastest growing in the world and spends a huge portion of government income on education.
Well known for the Okavango swamps and other tourist attractions like their wildlife reserves.
Country rich in diamonds and exports beef and donkey meat –
trades mainly with Southern African countries.
Like many African countries has challenges relative to the containment of Aids which is rampant.
Currency is the pula which is 18% stronger than the SA rand – approx P10-20 /1$.
The country is relatively safe and I have experienced no problems during my trips there.
