But it may not be what it seems. In court, a taxi driver said he not only committed the murder — he threw out a bombshell — saying he was paid by the groom to kill the bride. ITN briefs what happened in the incident. “Shrien and Anni Dewani in happier times. Just 2 weeks after their wedding, the couple were torn apart whilst on honeymoon in South Africa. The car was raided in outskirts of Cape Town. Ms. Dewani’s body later found with a gun shot in her neck. ” The allegations have brought forth a flood of questions. Why would the wealthy newlyweds go into a South African ghetto alone at night? The taxi driver tells the court, it was all a detailed plot designed by the groom, Shrien Dewani. A Zoopy TV reporter explains. “Tongo states on the evening of the hijacking, he and Shrien Dewani held up the pretense that they would be hijacked and knowing neither of them would be hurt. It had been arranged that Anni Dewani would be killed in a single bullet.” And while the groom continues to proclaim his innocence, the taxi driver offered more evidence in court, including a text message. Why does everyone think he didn’t do it? It definitely could have, unless you know him personally, there’s no reason why you would jus assume he hasn’t done anything. It’s possible the cab driver did it all as well…but then again, what’s his motive really?

*sigh* you need to be a little open-minded/objective. yes it’s very possible that the taxi driver is lying to get an easier sentence. and i agree with you he’s a sick man. nothing excuses murder. but you need to look at the facts: they have CCTV footage of Shrine paying the taxi driver before AND after the murder. they also have footage of Shrine exchanging his money at a blackmarket exchange. also, the text msg mentioned in this video? they wouldnt quote it if it didnt exist.

who knows, but look at how many cases have come up in the past of brides being murdered by their new husbands on the their honeymoon? I can count at least 4 cases, all with no clear motive.

I think you arent really following me. The police have suggested she was accidentally shot, they came up with the theory due to the unusual entry angle of the bullet. If you accidentally shoot someone dead the natural reaction is panic.
Time will tell and its best to leave it to that and not spread assumptions of assumed guilt on the net or the tabloid press before the investigation is concluded.

I asked you if you have heard of Colin Stagg. He was some years ago accused of murder in london, the press had him convicted in a trial of public opinion before the case even came to court. He was actually innocent but basically his life was ruined. Many years later he was compensated.

The SA police put forward the panic theory themselves. If the kidnappers accidentally shot her, they then panicked and ran away. The police came to the idea owing to the unusual entry angle of the bullet. If you arent aware of this (and i am not really following the case) then i dont understand how you can jump to conclusions and post them on the web. Sounds rather nasty if you ask me.
