There was a time when the East African Safari Rally drivers would only wear green bush hats. I saw so many Safari Rallies. I would especially enjoy the day before the Rally when all the entrants/vehicles were parked together for technical compliance. Saw the Singh brothers (who won in a Volvo PV544 in 1965) and many of the regulars. The Safari Rally was a test for the drivers and vehicles.
Does anyone have this with just the sound of the cars?
oooooooohhhhhhhhhh a lancia

Great video! Exciting, dramatic images from a great rally! A pity the pigs censored the soundtrack
So if your car breaks down its you vs. the lions? Intense haha
My Dad died recently who was a Safari driver and I sent this video out as a tribute to him. I grew up in Kenya and was there around this time. They were special.

Totally amazing!! Born free and they look free!! Awesome footage! Thanks
@j341 Whoa! …your comment seems rather testy …I used the word ‘wondered’ ’cause that’s what I did when I saw an elephant running to the side of a roadway …the image was captured with an imaging technology being transported by, I’m presuming here, by an individual being chauffeured in an advancing vehicle
…you on the other hand used words like I’m quoting here “doubt their respect”, “Did you judge by appearance alone? Could it be skin color? age? clothes? facial expressions? ” …Hmmm
love ur channel, very good cause, and great footage
I like the music you were using. Could i have the name?
lovely to see the animals roaming freely …when I saw the images of individuals who were participating in the ‘”epic travel adventures around the world through Cheesemans’ Ecology Safaris” I wondered just how ‘ecologicly minded’ they really are …It is one thing to share images of animals …it is quite another thing to actually respect the animals in their natural habitats
thanks for sharing …it provided me with food for introspection
Awesome!!!!!!!
WOW Chilldad, did you go with the Cheeseman’s and do all the videotaping? Great safari and great camera work…Hey maybe te Cheeseman’s need a few young hosts for a travel safari show? I can think of a few =)
Great video! It gives a wonderful overview of how exciting our safaris are! Thanks for making and sharing it!
@Chilldogg Is it a Civet cat?
@suprablue nice guess, the animal at 1:20 looks “cat-like”, but it is actually related to the mongoose family. You can see a serval cat at 1:47.
Thanks for guessing
Would that be a Cerval cat at 1:20?
ZOMG THAT WAS AN ELEPHANT!
@Chilldogg
Omg its amazing i have to go there one day
oh and did you go there to record it?
Anyways thanks for the footage
@TheKenAlanShow Thanks, glad you enjoyed it and thank you for leaving a comment!
